Suzanne Taylor recommends Bee Yourself Counselling
Madonna is a most understanding and intuitive counselor and has helped me to find and express some of the buried emotions that I did not understand were causing me so much pain in my day to day life. How much lighter I feel after seeing her in a session is proof in itself of her natural skill and is priceless to me
Thank you so much beautiful lady

Madonna was such a good listener, and could pick up even what I wasn't saying, I went with some complex issues, that needed to be talked about. Madonna was able to help me sort my priorities to help myself mostly while still helping others I care about. Madonna was encouraging and cared for me, with her gentle approach, but firm convictions about guiding me to see myself with kinder eyes and saw my capabilities that I couldn't see at that time.
Madonna has a varied background and knows about tough stuff. Grief counselling is only one of her specialities. I thoroughly recommend Madonna to help anyone through their issues , she was a real blessing to me.

Madonna helped me understand the grief I feel for the loss of the absolute love of my life, my dear cat, Axel. Empathetic, knowledgable, great listener and communicator. It’s ok to grieve, pets are sent to us to experience the most pure and unconditional love. Not a day passes when I don’t use the strategies Madonna gave me to acknowledge and cherish my boy and continue on with my heart growing around his life and memory.

The principal Madonna, is a very well educated professional who is kind caring n full of empathy. She is easy to talk to n is a great listener. I feel she goes over n above in her duty of care in my case anyway. I cannot recommend her highly enough and I am extremely grateful to her.

Kind and caring. Madonna is literally one of the easiest people to talk to.
1. How much does a session cost?
A 50 minute session is $85.00. Many therapists, including myself, set their own fees and do not use rebate systems. These therapy services are private and charged at a reduced rate in lieu of using government-assisted rebates. This means I can offer the maximum level of convenience with a minimal waiting period and flexible appointment times, whilst also offering a reasonable fee for service. As per above, I do not offer subsidised counselling for Mental Health Care Plans or Private Health cover, as my rates are already reduced.
Payment methods: Eftpos, direct deposit, cash.
2. I've never been to counselling before. I don't know what to do.
It's normal to feel uncertain about something you've never done before. You don't have to "do" anything though. It's my job to guide you and help you to feel comfortable to share. The fact you are seeking out counselling shows you want to talk to someone. That is a great start. At the beginning of your first session I will ask you to complete a short form called a Client Consent Form. This provides me with your personal details, as well as other information which helps me to provide a personalised therapeutic service to you.
3. How many sessions will I need?
People often wonder about this. In your first session we will go through your Client Consent Form which covers aspects such as confidentiality, payment, and the number of recommended sessions. I generally recommend between 4-6 sessions but this is something we can work out together and revisit at the end of the third session. Of course, if you only want to come for one session that's fine as well.
4. What techniques do you use?
Overall, I use what is called a Person Centered Approach; simply meaning it's about you and not about cookie cutter counselling and squeezing you into a mould. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach, e.g. just CBT, just mindfulness, or whatever the latest fad may be. Some of my favourite modalities are: ACT, holistic psychology, somatic therapy, creative therapies, mindfulness and CBT (but with my own variants to the normal CBT approach). I believe because everybody is different people respond to different approaches, and some benefit from several approaches. However, some people don't come for techniques, solutions or fixes; they just want to be heard and express their thoughts and feelings. Most people want a mix of both, but again, it's about you and what you want. If you don't have a clue what you want that's fine as well. We will work it out together.
5. Where is your business?
For non-Townsville clients I provide Zoom, Skype or phone counselling. For local and surrounding areas I offer counselling from the privacy of my own home. I have a dedicated counselling room which clients find very calming and comfortable. I will make you a cuppa, or provide you with a glass of cold water. You can even put your feet up in the recliner if you want to relax. There is also plenty of street parking, or you can park in my driveway if you like.
6. Do I need a referral?
If you are contacting me for your own counselling you don't need a referral. If you are an Organisation, paying me via brokerage for your clients to attend, I do have a Referral Form which I will provide to you.
7. Who will I speak to if I phone to make an appointment; or who will read my email or text message?
Moi! I realise when you are feeling vulnerable and uncertain the smallest details are important; e.g. knowing who is on the other end of the phone when you ring. If I'm in session you will hear my message, advising that I will phone you back, which I will do the same day. Otherwise, I will answer your call and you will speak directly to me. Likewise with email or text messages; I am the only person who accesses my email account or text messages.
8. Do you do counselling for more than one person at a time?
I do mainly individual counselling, but I do make exceptions.
9. How do I contact you?
See the little red circle with the white envelope at the bottom right of every page? Just click on that and message away! You can also text or phone me on: 0452 245663. You will hear a message, in my voice, or I will answer your call.
If you have other questions, feel free to ask.
